"Ten years after losing my father unexpectedly, I felt the need to go back to places where memories of him are nestled into the landscape. Mont Ventoux in France was such a place. My parents went on their first holiday together there, so the mountain has always felt like a symbol of love to me. My father was 28 during that holiday, as was I when I made this image. By following in his footsteps, I felt close to him.
I documented this journey in my first photobook, Route du Soleil, which was self-published in 2020.”
