“In the world of late capitalism, people wander like drifters in the hands of fate – estranged bodies emptied of their souls. My project, The Haunted, is a metaphor for the ways in which people have lost touch with themselves in the alienation and confusion of contemporary Iranian society, where political, economic, bodily and aesthetic experiences have faded into oblivion. Unfortunately, identity is lost in a context where people are forced to believe, think and live in the same way.”
