"In June, while hiking in Lebanon’s Chouf nature reserve, a forest ranger stopped to ask if we needed anything. He had such a strong presence that I asked to take his portrait. With my point-and-shoot, I captured him in his worn car, cigarette dangling from his mouth. This photo reflects the tough yet gentle spirit of mountain people, shaped by the land they live in and the lives they lead."
