"Part of my ongoing project "Southern Birds", this photograph was taken in the streets of my hometown, Tyre, just months before the war made it impossible to return. Before our family home was destroyed and before countless innocent lives were lost. For me, the image depicts untold memories and unwritten stories—fragments of a history— that continue to be buried beneath the scars of Lebanon’s southern war."
